Open Press Dates! |

Open Press is an opportunity for printmakers who are already familiar with our studio to get some studio time without committing to a monthly membership. Open press rates are $10/hour and we request a 3-hour minimum. All Open Press times are Saturdays 10:00am-4:00pm |

Low-Tech High-Fun Printmaking

Dates: Thu-Sat July 8, 9, 10, 2010 Workshop participants will learn how to create a multi-plate/multi-colored collagraph print using silkscreen as a way to
transfer an initial drawing or photographic element to a collagraph plate by screening gel medium onto the collagraph board and
then flocking it with carborundum grit.

Steamroller Woodcut Demo |

Date: Saturday, July 17, 2010 Learn to carve large woodcut plates for printing with the Steamroller! Saltgrass will be printing with a Steamroller at the Saltgrass Studio in August 2010. You can be part of the fun! If you bring a woodcut plate, you can print it by driving over it with the 1.5 ton Steamroller! In this one-day demo/workshop you will learn how to carve the large plates we use for Steamroller printing so you can carve your own.

Date: Saturday, August 14, 2010 BIG relief prints using a steamroller as a press. Drive over your plate with the 1.5 ton steamroller (we call him "Squishy") to make your print. Too much fun!
