Open Press Dates!

 

Open Press is an opportunity for printmakers who are already familiar with our studio to get some studio time without committing to a monthly membership. Open press rates are $10/hour and we request a 3-hour minimum.

All Open Press times are Saturdays 10:00am-4:00pm

Wood Engraving

 

December 16th and 17th
Time: 10:00 am to 3:00 pm each day
Cost: $170.00 includes all materials and tools. 
Class Limited to 10 participants.

Wood engraving is at once the simplest and one of the most exquisite forms of printmaking.
Koichi Yamamoto is returning this December to teach a wood engraving workshop at Saltgrass Printmakers. 

Koichi Yamamoto is an internationally recognized artist and
Assistant Professor of Printmaking at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. 

    

      



Polyester Plate Lithography

Saturdays, October 22, 29, Nov 5, 12, 2011
10:00am to 1:00pm

Also known as Pronto Plate Lithography, this offset lithography technique is capable of
reproducing the full spectrum of marks such as: hand drawn brush strokes, ink wash,
texture, crayon and pencil marks, and is equally well suited for digital imaging.

Using new, safer, non-toxic materials in his approach to printimaking, Brent Haddock no longer uses harmful acids, solvent or chemicals. The resulting prints have a striking modern imagery that retains much of the traditional etching techniques.
