This workshop is an opportunity to explore large scale monotypes using a reductive painting process. In this technique, a plexiglass plate is inked with a brayer to create a foundation of solid ink. Rags, brushes, and a broad range of tools are used to remove the ink from the plate to produce a range of gradients and textural effects. We will directly observe objects from nature as inspiration and transform them into monumental forms and textures on the plates.
